Year 9
Year 9
At TRIS, year 9 students are lucky enough to spend half of their year in the Graphic Design suite learning Adobe Photoshop skills with Miss Bailey. This means that they have a good knowledge base and preparation if they choose to follow the Graphic Design IGCSE. Consequently, Year 9 students will only complete 2 units this year. These 2 units run over one and a half terms.
Unit 1
Cubist portraits: revisiting Picasso and introducing Juan Gris, students work on their technical portraiture skills before developing these into a cubist self portrait. Students learn about fragmentation, multiple viewpoints, limited pallettes and graduated colours.
Key Artists: Picasso, Juan Gris
